AN OVERVIEW

Kochi Metro project is a Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) with a single elevated line made to operate in the commercial capital of Kerala. KMRL was registered on 2nd August 2011 under the Companies Act 1956.

Phase 1A of Kochi Metro project with the distance of 25.612 km from Aluva-Pettah including 22 stations began in June 2013.

Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro project including 11 stations with a distance of 11.2 km was approved in July 2018 by the Kerala govt with an expected cost of Rs 2,310 crores.
