About HMR

Transportation in a metro city is a major issue for the Government of Telangana, and Hyderabad is not an exception to this rule. Keeping this in view, the Hyderabad Metro Rail is being developed as one of the largest modern transport systems in the world based upon the PPP model.

Hyderabad Metro is a rapid transit system for the city of Hyderabad . It is in SOM ( Secant Operational Model ).The entire Hyderabad Metro Rail project was being implemented by PPP ( Public Private Partnership )basis, The Telangana Government holding a equity stake in Hyderabad Metro Rail.


The cost of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project it is estimated to cost Rs : 15,000 Crore.

Hyderabad Metro Rail is Operated by HMRL ( Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd), connecting 64 Stations in 1st phase 1, the average speed of the metro rail is 35 km/h (22 mph), and Top Speed of the metro rail is 80 km/h (50 mph), and total number of lines are 3.


The Hyderabad Metro Rail Network will cover a total distance of around 72 Km across three corridors:

  • Corridor 1: Miyapur – L.B.Nagar (29Km)
  • Corridor 2: Jubliee Bus Stand - Falaknuma (15Km)
  • Corridor 3: Nagole – Shilparamam (28 Km)
