HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited(HMRL) plans to give the 5- kilometer Metro rail stretch between Assembly and Chaderghat a 'heritage' look . Continuous and wide footpaths for seamless pedestrian movement will be developed in the entire stretch, with a distinct heritage theme.
In the metro rail corridor from Ameerpet to L B Nagar and Ameerpet to Jubilee Hills Check Post, we are constructing footpaths of lengths not exceeding 600 metres at each statio. We are extending the footpath length by 200 metres on both sides. These footpaths are however, not end-to-end footpaths and the gaps will be covered either by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) or the Hyderabad Road Development Corporation (HRDC).Close

The Ameerpet to L.B Nagar metro section is likely to be thrown open to the public only around the first week of September, While trial runs are in full swing, all the works, testing and commissioning activities have been completed.
application to Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) has been submitted on July 31 and the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA), Halcrow (U.K.) is currently doing safety assessment of the signalling system.
The CMRS will be inspecting the section, which will complete Corridor One or the Red Line from Miyapur to L.B. Nagar, on receipt of the ISA Certificate.

The Hyderabad Metro Rail has set up electric bikes at affordable rates for commuters on a rental basis from August 15. The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) inaugurated the launch of the service on Monday.
The Metro e-bikes will cost as low as Rs 4 per kilometre and the passengers can drive the bike home, keep it with them overnight and return it back at any metro station with the facility, on the next day.
The service can be availed by passengers after downloading the Metro Bikes app, which will get their driving licence and identification proof verified.
As of now, Metro Bikes are operating conventional bikes at Secunderabad, Rasoolpura, Begumpet, Nagole, Parade Grounds and Miyapur Metro stations. That service was launched in May, first at Miyapur and had become an instant with commuters.Close
