Hyderabad Metro Rail, new face of Hyderabad.
We Hyderabadis got one more reason to celebrate.
Recently the celebration was for opening of New Hyderabad International Airport at Shamshabad, now it's for a Metro Rail approval. The Centre has given in-principal approval to Hyderabad Metro Rail, one of the largest projects of its kind in the world and the country's first two-track elevated city transit system to be developed under the public-private participation model. Work on the Rs. 9696-crore project will begin in August. Tenders are to be called by June and finalized in July. The project will be completed four years from its grounding.
The Metro will run for 72 km and will rest on massive concrete pillars along the central median of the roads. There will be stations at every kilometre. Last few years have been very important in the development of this city as variousmega projects have been approved by the Government which includes Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad, Fab City, Hardware Park, Seven Star Hotel and the list goes on. Some leading International Universities are ready to open their campuses here. Recently the city got extended in-terms of area, as big as Singapore, and second biggest city in India, by merging 12 municipalities and eight villages and got a title of "Greater Hyderabad". With this expansion there is a huge demand of land properties, hence many national and international companies have targeted this city for mega real estate projects. Already a handful of International Real Estate companies completed many projects successfully and received a good response from local and NRI investors. Every student and employee in India is willing to study and work here, because of top-class institutions, large organizations, better opportunities, pleasant weather, friendly people and tasty food. Once you visit this amazing city, then you too will definitely want to stay for a lifetime.
The population of Hyderabad GHMC limits is fast increasing and the existing public transport systems could not meet the intra-city travel requirements. So, the government of Andhra Pradesh along with private artnership has undertaken metro rail project in Hyderabad. The elevated rail shall run across three routes in the initial stage, covering a distance of approximately 72 kilometers across the length and breadth of the city.
